Stain protection without the forever chemicals. We treat your furniture with the Healthier Homes Non-Toxic Fabric Protector, a water-based, PFAS-free spray that resists stains and repels dirt, and we apply it ourselves before your order goes out. One treatment covers one piece, so it can be added to anything upholstered we carry, from sofas and sectionals to accent chairs, ottomans, and rugs.
What is in it
- Ingredients: water, plant-based surfactant, acrylic, water softener, omega 9 oleic fatty acid, ethanolamine
- VOC content: 0 grams. Hazardous air pollutants (HAPs): 0

What it protects
- Resists stains and repels dirt on upholstery, leather, curtains, pillows, mattresses, rugs, and carpet
- Traps odors already in the fabric and helps keep new ones from sticking
- Blocks most of the offgassing that comes off upholstery foam and stuffing
- Safe on synthetic fabrics and natural textiles, plus table linens, woven baskets, and kids' car seats
- Not for use on wool, which includes wool rugs and wool-blend upholstery
How it is applied
We spot test an inconspicuous area first, then work on clean, dry fabric, misting light coats rather than soaking the material. Each coat has to dry to the touch before the next one goes on. Rugs and carpet get worked in with a broom between coats, and leather gets wiped with a dry cloth after each pass. Extra coats add extra protection on pieces that take heavy use.
The treatment cures completely in six to eight hours in a conditioned space. Cooler temperatures or higher humidity stretch that out. We treat the piece at our warehouse before delivery or pickup, so it reaches you cured, dry, and ready to sit on.
Care
- The treatment resists stains and dirt. It does not make fabric waterproof, so blot spills as soon as they happen instead of rubbing them in.
- Follow the care code on your piece for routine cleaning.
- Ask us to add protection to any upholstered item in your order, or tell your salesperson which pieces you want treated.

What we need from you
Which pieces you want treated. Protection is priced per piece, so a three-piece sectional takes three treatments.
Cure time
Six to eight hours in our conditioned warehouse. Cooler temperatures or higher humidity extend it, and we plan around that so your piece is delivered cured.
The one exception
We don’t treat wool, including wool-blend rugs and upholstery. Tell us the fabric and we’ll check it before you buy.
