“I showed the sales rep photos of my living room and she helped me pick out a perfect new couch that matches great with my existing decor.”

A custom sofa isn't a luxury. It's the difference between furniture that almost works and furniture that fits your life. At What's New Furniture, every made-to-order sofa and sectional starts with three choices that are entirely yours: the frame, the fabric, and the configuration. The result is a piece built to your specifications.
Custom here is not cosmetic. You select the frame style: mid-century, track arm, English roll arm, pillow-back, or tuxedo. Then choose your fabric from each maker's range. Finally, you decide the configuration: sofa, loveseat, apartment sofa, L-shaped sectional, U-shaped sectional, chaise, or ottoman. Every dimension can be tailored to your room.
Stanton Furniture: a custom upholstery maker with a wide range of frames, sizes, and fabrics. Every piece is covered by its manufacturer's warranty, with terms that vary by brand.
Stylus Furniture: a custom upholstery brand with a focus on clean modern lines.
Rowe Furniture: a custom upholstery brand with a wide choice of frames and fabrics.
Choosing fabric is the most personal part of the process. Browse our Stanton fabric wall online to compare options. Performance fabrics for families with kids and pets, luxe velvets for formal living rooms, and neutral linens for everything in between.
Off-the-shelf sofas come in the colors and sizes the manufacturer decided to produce. Custom means no compromises: the right width for your living room, the right depth for your frame, and the right fabric for your household. It also means no one else has the exact same piece.
How long does a custom sofa take?
Custom sofas and sectionals follow the maker's build time, typically 4 to 14 weeks, and we'll give you the current estimate for your frame when you order.
Can I customize a sectional configuration?
Yes. Our custom brands offer modular sectional options. You pick the number of pieces, chaise orientation (left or right), and overall length.
How do I measure for a custom sofa?
Measure the wall for length and depth, then check doorways, hallways, and stairwells for the width of the path the sofa will take. Tape the footprint on the floor to see how it feels in the room. Our team can help you choose a frame and configuration.
Tip: Choose the fabric last. Settle the frame, size, and configuration first, then pick a fabric that suits the way your household uses the sofa.
