Barrett Bar & Counter Stool

Barrett keeps a counter stool honest: a sculpted parawood seat sits on four black iron-stretchered legs, with no upholstery, no cushion, nothing extra to wear out. The Natural Matte finish leaves the wood pale and plain-grained; the Matte Black version takes the whole seat to a sleek, uniform black. Either way it is a simply built counter stool that reads as considered rather than basic.

At 26 inches tall it is sized for a standard counter, and the compact 17.25-inch square footprint means a run of them along an island does not eat up floor space the way a padded stool would.

Styling Tips

Natural Matte keeps a kitchen island feeling light and stays close to a butcher-block or pale-oak counter, while Matte Black reads as a graphic accent next to white quartz or marble. Because there is no fabric to match, either finish pairs easily with patterned dining chairs elsewhere in the room.

Line three or four up at a waterfall-edge island for a clean, repeated silhouette, or mix a couple of Barrett stools with upholstered dining seating from our dining chairs collection for a more collected kitchen.

Returns & Exchanges
We want you to love what you bought. Not sure it's right? Ask about “If It Fits, It Sits” — take select in-stock pieces home for up to 2 days and live with them before you commit.

If your item came boxed and you still have the packaging, you've got 7 days from the day you get it to tell us you'd like to try something else. Bring it back to the showroom unused and in its box, and we'll put the full amount on store credit so you can find the right piece. Credit doesn't expire.

Custom orders, consignment, and floor models work differently — those are built to your specs, owned by someone else, or the last one on the floor, so they're final. That said, if you're in a real bind on a custom piece, tell us. Some of our vendors will take one back for a restocking fee, and we're happy to ask on your behalf.

Warranty
Warranty coverage comes from the manufacturer, so terms vary by brand. Several of the makers we carry offer a lifetime warranty on the frame, the springs, and the resiliency of the cushions; others cover a set number of years. Fabric and leather coverage is typically separate from structural coverage.

Whatever your piece carries, you don't have to chase it down. If something arrives damaged or a defect appears later, contact us and our claims department files with the manufacturer on your behalf and sees it through.
