Sizes, materials and care

Details are what separate a chair from a piece, and the Bernard has the kind worth leaning in for — rich brown leather straps against a subtly patterned shoji-cream weave, all carried on a walnut-finished rubberwood frame. The seat blends foam, a feather bag, and Dacron; the back is feather and fiber. Translation: it looks tailored and sits indulgent. It's one of the most refined silhouettes in our accent chair collection. It's the kind of piece that photographs quietly and impresses completely in person.

Styling Tips

Echo the leather straps with cognac or walnut tones nearby — a wood side table or leather-bound books do it effortlessly. The cream body keeps it light enough to float in a corner without crowding, and a pair facing a sofa gives the living room a boutique-hotel calm. Add a low ottoman and it becomes the Sunday chair. Dress it minimally — this is a chair that shouldn't be buried under throw pillows — and let the strapwork stay visible from across the room.

Care:
Vacuum the fabric with an upholstery attachment and blot spills immediately without rubbing. Wipe leather straps with a soft, dry cloth; avoid solvents. Fluff the feather-blend cushions regularly and keep out of direct sunlight.
