Sizes, materials and care

Big rooms swallow small tables. The Carmel refuses to be swallowed: a broad reclaimed-wood top sits on block legs thick enough to read as architecture, in an Earthy Terra finish that leans warm and slightly weathered. Styling Tips

At 60 inches this wants a sofa of at least 84 inches in front of it — anything shorter and the table starts to look like the main event. Leave 16 to 18 inches of walking room on the long side. The Earthy Terra finish sits comfortably with olive, cream, leather and black accents; ground the whole arrangement on a layered neutral from our rug collection, and see the rest of our living room furniture.

Care
  • Cleaning: Dust with a soft dry cloth; wipe spills promptly with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately.
  • Protection: Use coasters, placemats and trivets. Keep the piece out of prolonged direct sun, which lightens the finish unevenly.
  • Character: Reclaimed wood is salvaged, so tone, grain, nail holes and saw marks vary piece to piece. These are part of the material, not defects.
