Sizes, materials and care

Texture on texture, and the light comes out golden. A squat ceramic base is hand-tiled in a grid of green squares under a reactive glaze — so every lamp fires a little differently — and above it a tall, hand-woven rattan drum filters the bulb into a warm basket-weave glow. Off, it is a study in green and natural fiber; on, the whole shade lights up like a lantern. It is the sort of piece that makes a bookshelf or credenza feel considered. Styling

The tall, narrow silhouette is built for tight spots that still deserve good light: a hallway console, the corner of a credenza, a bedroom dresser. Green and rattan read naturally with walnut, cane, and linen, and the woven glow flatters every plant within six feet.
