Styling
The mustard is the loud part, so let it be the only loud thing on the sofa. On a deep green or charcoal upholstery it reads warm and slightly retro; on natural linen it disappears into the ground and only the ruffle registers. Fold it in thirds over one arm rather than draping it across the back, which keeps the velvet edge visible and stops the print from competing with a patterned rug.
It layers well with a plain woven throw in a heavier weight, one over the other on the same arm, and it works just as hard at the foot of a bed as it does in a living room.
