What neighbors say about getting it home

Google reviews of our Portland store, and what each one means for the Metropolis.

I have stairs and tight corners; I was very worried the couch wouldn’t fit. But they consistently reassured me, and they got it into my apartment beautifully.

The first flight of stairs is on us; a second flight is $50, and $25 for each one after. Tell us about tight turns when we schedule.

They communicated, called in advance, showed up on time and were super quick hauling away my old sofa and bringing in my new one all the way up 3 flights of stairs.

Alicia was amazing while I was buying a sectional couch - she was professional and navigated gracefully through my challenges, making a decision and changing configurations.

Sizes, materials and care

No matter what size room you have, every piece should be distinctive — and the Metropolis Dining Table proves a small table can carry big character. A warm pine top on a powder-coated gunmetal steel base channels the style of a Parisian sidewalk café, sized perfectly for lofts, studios, and breakfast nooks. It's the dining table for spaces where every square foot has to earn its keep.

Details

Top: 30" square solid pine wood surface with warm natural grain
Base: Powder-coated steel in a deep gunmetal finish
Footprint: Compact 30-inch square — fits lofts, apartments, and eat-in corners
Style: Industrial café character reminiscent of a Parisian sidewalk bistro
Maker: By NPD (New Pacific Direct)
Dimensions: 30" x 30" x 29.5"

Styling Tips

Treat the Metropolis like the café table it wants to be: two dining chairs in wood or metal, a pendant overhead, and a wall close enough to set the morning espresso against. The gunmetal base loves exposed brick, matte black fixtures, and warm wood floors; the pine top keeps the look from going cold. Put it in a kitchen corner as an everyday two-top, or against a window as a part-time desk that sets a proper dinner at night. Round out the space from our dining room furniture.

Care

Cleaning: Wipe the pine top with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry promptly
Protection: Use placemats and trivets under hot dishes and coasters under drinks
Steel base: Dust with a dry cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners on the powder coat
Placement: Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to prevent uneven fading
