What neighbors say about getting it home

Google reviews of our Portland store, and what each one means for the Gardford.

  1. I have stairs and tight corners; I was very worried the couch wouldn’t fit. But they consistently reassured me, and they got it into my apartment beautifully.

    For this piece

The first flight of stairs is on us; a second flight is $50, and $25 for each one after. Tell us about tight turns when we schedule.

  2. They communicated, called in advance, showed up on time and were super quick hauling away my old sofa and bringing in my new one all the way up 3 flights of stairs.

Sizes, materials and care

Every seating group needs one piece with no hard edges, and the Gardford is it. A solid drum of reclaimed wood carries a 40-inch round top, so people move around it instead of squeezing past a corner — and the salvaged grain gives a brand-new room the sense that something in it has a history. Browse the rest of our coffee tables.

Details

  • Dimensions: 40" W x 40" D x 17" H
  • Material: Reclaimed wood
  • Finish: Natural, low sheen
  • Base: Solid sculptural drum, full-depth
  • Shape: Round — no corners, easier traffic flow in tight rooms
  • Maker: Classic Home

Styling Tips

A round table is the fix for a room where the walkway is tight or the sofa faces a doorway. Set it on a textured rug to keep the drum base from disappearing into the floor, and let the wood do the talking — one ceramic bowl and a stack of books is plenty. It plays well against linen upholstery and black metal; pair it with the rest of our living room furniture or layer it over one of our rugs.

Care
  • Cleaning: Dust with a soft dry cloth; wipe spills promptly with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately.
  • Protection: Use coasters, placemats and trivets. Keep the piece out of prolonged direct sun, which lightens the finish unevenly.
  • Character: Reclaimed wood is salvaged, so tone, grain, nail holes and saw marks vary piece to piece. These are part of the material, not defects.

A few more to fall for.
