Styling Tips
Counter height changes how a room is used: people perch, cook, work and eat at the same surface, which is why this suits an open kitchen better than a formal dining room. Leave about 12 inches of knee clearance and pair it with 24-inch seat-height stools from our counter stools collection.
The painted base is the decision. Green leans warm and reads country-adjacent against natural wood and brass; slate blue is cooler and holds up better in a kitchen with a lot of white. Either way the butcher block top ties back to cutting boards and open shelving, and the rest of our dining room furniture gives you the lighting and seating to finish it.
Care
- Dust with a soft, dry cloth; wipe spills right away with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately.
- Skip ammonia, bleach and silicone-based polishes, which dull a wood finish over time.
- Use coasters and felt pads under lamps and decor to protect the surface from rings and scratches.
- Keep out of prolonged direct sun and away from heat vents so the finish does not fade or check.
