Sizes, materials and care

Two hundred years of Irish carpentry are baked into this chair's design — a tall slat back, honest proportions, and the jigsaw-style joinery that made 18th-century Irish furniture nearly indestructible. LH builds it today from FSC-certified reclaimed and recycled timber, complete with hardware of recycled metal, and finishes it by hand in the deep African Dusk tone through layered brushed applications. Set it against the rest of our dining chair collection and the difference in build shows.

Styling Tips

Slat backs are the workhorse of farmhouse seating — run six along a plank-top dining table and the rhythm of the verticals does the decorating for you. The espresso African Dusk finish grounds lighter floors and plays handsomely against cream walls. A bench along one side keeps the arrangement casual and seats an extra guest in a pinch. Mix in the hand-hole chair at the table heads, and store the linens in a matching piece from the dining room collection.

Care:
Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills quickly with a barely damp cloth, drying immediately. Avoid harsh cleaners on the layered finish. Check joinery occasionally and keep away from direct heat.
