Lewis Windsor Chair

Lewis takes the traditional Windsor and cleans it up: tall solid-oak seating is wire-brushed to bring out the wood's natural cathedral graining, then finished in a sandy neutral or a deep black for a more modern contrast. Two of the six finishes add a loose seat cushion in cream or a subtle stripe, softening the silhouette without covering up the spindle back. It reads less like a farmhouse chair and more like a dining chair that happens to reference one.

At 18.5 inches wide, the tall spindle back gives real support without the bulk of an upholstered wingback, and it works equally well as a head chair or repeated around the table.

Styling Tips

Sandy Oak and the cushioned Antwerp Natural keep a room feeling light and work well around a pale or marble top from our dining tables collection. Black Oak reads as a sharper, more graphic choice, especially mixed with brass or blackened-metal lighting overhead.

Because the spindle back is open, Lewis chairs do not block sightlines, which makes them a good pick for a smaller dining room. Mix finishes at the head of the table for a collected look. Round out the room from our dining room furniture collection.

Returns & Exchanges
We want you to love what you bought. Not sure it's right? Ask about “If It Fits, It Sits” — take select in-stock pieces home for up to 2 days and live with them before you commit.

If your item came boxed and you still have the packaging, you've got 7 days from the day you get it to tell us you'd like to try something else. Bring it back to the showroom unused and in its box, and we'll put the full amount on store credit so you can find the right piece. Credit doesn't expire.

Custom orders, consignment, and floor models work differently — those are built to your specs, owned by someone else, or the last one on the floor, so they're final. That said, if you're in a real bind on a custom piece, tell us. Some of our vendors will take one back for a restocking fee, and we're happy to ask on your behalf.

Warranty
Warranty coverage comes from the manufacturer, so terms vary by brand. Several of the makers we carry offer a lifetime warranty on the frame, the springs, and the resiliency of the cushions; others cover a set number of years. Fabric and leather coverage is typically separate from structural coverage.

Whatever your piece carries, you don't have to chase it down. If something arrives damaged or a defect appears later, contact us and our claims department files with the manufacturer on your behalf and sees it through.
