Matthes Console Table - 79"

The Matthes is built around one visual trick: a solid top that appears to float, cantilevered over a base angled just enough to catch the eye without looking unstable. Six finish options, from reclaimed pine to oak veneer, mean the same silhouette works warm or nearly black. It is a console table built to showcase the wood rather than add ornament to it.

At 78.75 inches long, it runs the length of an entry hall or sits behind a sofa without leaving awkward gaps at either end, while the shallow 15-inch depth keeps it out of the walkway.

Styling Tips

The cantilever is the whole point, so give the base room to read: skip a skirted runner that hides the angle, and keep table lamps or decor light enough that the top still looks like it is floating. The reclaimed pine finishes bring more visible grain and knots, while the oak veneer options read smoother and more uniform.

Returns & Exchanges
We want you to love what you bought. Not sure it's right? Ask about “If It Fits, It Sits” — take select in-stock pieces home for up to 2 days and live with them before you commit.

If your item came boxed and you still have the packaging, you've got 7 days from the day you get it to tell us you'd like to try something else. Bring it back to the showroom unused and in its box, and we'll put the full amount on store credit so you can find the right piece. Credit doesn't expire.

Custom orders, consignment, and floor models work differently — those are built to your specs, owned by someone else, or the last one on the floor, so they're final. That said, if you're in a real bind on a custom piece, tell us. Some of our vendors will take one back for a restocking fee, and we're happy to ask on your behalf.

Warranty
Warranty coverage comes from the manufacturer, so terms vary by brand. Several of the makers we carry offer a lifetime warranty on the frame, the springs, and the resiliency of the cushions; others cover a set number of years. Fabric and leather coverage is typically separate from structural coverage.

Whatever your piece carries, you don't have to chase it down. If something arrives damaged or a defect appears later, contact us and our claims department files with the manufacturer on your behalf and sees it through.
