Sizes, materials and care

One plank, mitered at both corners, folding straight down to the floor. The Merwin Console Table is a waterfall silhouette built from reclaimed pine, so the saw-kerf texture and old knots come through a pale gray-taupe wash instead of being sanded away. It is completely open underneath, which is what keeps a 63-inch piece from making a narrow entry feel closed in.

Styling Tips

The taller 32.5-inch height puts it at a comfortable standing surface, which makes it a good drop zone by a door or a serving surface behind a dining table. Reclaimed pine takes on almost anything, so it works as easily against white plaster as it does in a room full of black metal and leather. Because it is open underneath, a pair of poufs or a low basket tucks away cleanly without breaking the line.
