Sizes, materials and care

Throw pillows are the cheapest square footage of style in the house, and the Mood makes its seventeen inches count — black and white polyester velvet with a genuine dark brown leather strip that adds a hit of material contrast most pillows never attempt. Styling Tips

Graphic black and white works as a punctuation mark — set the Mood against a solid-color sofa where its contrast can pop, or layer it in front of larger neutral pillows on the bed. The leather strip picks up brown and cognac tones, so it bridges beautifully between a leather accent chair and lighter upholstery in the living room. Odd numbers style best: pair it with two solids in different scales and stop there. It's an easy, low-commitment way to test a black-and-white palette before repainting anything, and it refreshes home decor for less than a lamp.
