Sizes, materials and care

A full-bellied terracotta urn with four small loop handles set into the shoulder and a chalky grey-brown patina that reads like it has been outside for a decade. The surface is matte and uneven, with pale mineral streaks and the odd nick left in on purpose, so it does not look like something that arrived in a box last week. At fifteen inches it is big enough to stand alone on the floor beside a chair.

Styling

Leave it empty. The shape carries a corner on its own, and anything you put in it competes with the patina.
