Sizes, materials and care

A turned wood stem under a fluted gold metal cap, eight inches tall. The metal is what separates this from the painted mushrooms: it catches light, the fluting throws shadow, and the object stops being a novelty and starts being a small brass thing that happens to be mushroom-shaped. Styling

Put it where light will hit the cap: near a lamp, on a shelf below a window, at the end of a mantel. In shadow the metal goes flat and you lose the reason you bought it.

Gold reads warm, so it belongs in a room that already has brass or warm wood somewhere. Pair it with the plain wood mushrooms at different heights rather than lining them up. More in home accents.
