Sizes, materials and care

Dark reclaimed timber with plain metal handles bolted to each end, deliberately unrefined. Reclaimed wood means old grain, old colour and the occasional nail hole, so no two of these are the same and none of them look new. 21 inch and 24 inch, sold individually. More in home decor.

Styling

The real job of a tray is to make a pile of unrelated objects read as one arrangement. On an ottoman it turns remotes, a candle and a book into a still life; on a kitchen counter it corrals the oil and salt. The 24 inch is the ottoman size, the 21 inch the console size.

Dark wood and black metal go with almost everything, and they are forgiving of a room that is already busy. Put something with height on it, a stack of two books, and leave the rest of the surface clear. More in living room.

  • Wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately
  • Do not soak, and keep out of the dishwasher
  • Not food safe; use a liner for anything edible
  • Reclaimed timber may have old nail holes and splits, which is the intent
