What neighbors say about finding the next one

Google reviews of our Portland store, and what each one means for this piece.

Although they did not carry what I was looking for initially, I was pleasantly surprised to find a personal text from Addie from the store about a month or so later, when a couch of similar description to the one I’d been hoping for came in!

Sizes, materials and care

A full set of six vintage Gunlocke dining chairs in Red Velvet is the kind of find that stops a treasure hunt cold. Gunlocke built its name on honest American contract furniture with sculpted seats, tidy proportions, and frames meant to last through decades of use: and this set still carries that quiet confidence. The Red Velvet upholstery is unapologetically color-forward: saturated, tactile, and ready to wake up a Portland dining room that has been living in neutrals too long.

Each chair measures about 23 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 33 inches high, so they tuck neatly around a table without crowding the room. Wood frames and that plush Red Velvet pairing keep the look mid-century without feeling museum-stiff. Condition is good: honest wear consistent with well-loved vintage, nothing that hides the lines or the material story.

Park them with a walnut table, a brass pendant, and a rug that can hold its own against the velvet. They work as a matched dining set or as a row of statement seats along a kitchen island. If you have been hunting vintage dining room chairs Portland, this six-pack is the rare complete set that actually feels like a discovery, not a compromise.
