Renan Coffee Table

Reclaimed French oak, cut thick and set on a plinth base, is round enough that it drops the coffee table's usual hard edges entirely. Four Hands designed the Renan with longtime collaborator Thomas Bina and Brazilian designer Ronald Sasson, and their touch shows in the base, more sculpture than furniture support. It is a coffee table built around the reclaimed oak's own grain and history rather than a uniform, factory finish.

At just over 54 inches across and only 13.5 inches high, it sits low enough for a deep sectional and wide enough to anchor a large seating group without needing a second accent table alongside it.

Styling Tips

Reclaimed oak this expressive does not need much company: a stack of books and one object is enough on top, so the grain and the plinth base stay the focus. Dark Espresso works as a quiet anchor in a lighter room, while Natural leans warmer if the rest of the furniture already runs dark.

Because the base is solid and the top is round, it reads well from every angle, a good fit for a room with seating on more than one side. Round out the space from our coffee tables collection or add a complementary side table for drinks closer to a chair.

We want you to love what you bought. Not sure it's right? Ask about “If It Fits, It Sits” — take select in-stock pieces home for up to 2 days and live with them before you commit.

If your item came boxed and you still have the packaging, you've got 7 days from the day you get it to tell us you'd like to try something else. Bring it back to the showroom unused and in its box, and we'll put the full amount on store credit so you can find the right piece. Credit doesn't expire.

Custom orders, consignment, and floor models work differently — those are built to your specs, owned by someone else, or the last one on the floor, so they're final. That said, if you're in a real bind on a custom piece, tell us. Some of our vendors will take one back for a restocking fee, and we're happy to ask on your behalf.

Warranty
Warranty coverage comes from the manufacturer, so terms vary by brand. Several of the makers we carry offer a lifetime warranty on the frame, the springs, and the resiliency of the cushions; others cover a set number of years. Fabric and leather coverage is typically separate from structural coverage.

Whatever your piece carries, you don't have to chase it down. If something arrives damaged or a defect appears later, contact us and our claims department files with the manufacturer on your behalf and sees it through.
