Sizes, materials and care

Minimal on the outside, properly built on the inside. The Roanhowe end table hides a fully finished drawer with dovetail joinery and ball-bearing glides behind a plain brown oak front, and leaves the lower shelf open for the things you actually reach for. It is the quiet member of a mid-century seating group, and it lines up well with our other side tables.

Styling Tips

The deeper 26" footprint means the Roanhowe holds its own beside a full-depth sofa instead of disappearing behind the arm. Use the drawer for controllers and cables and the shelf for a stack of magazines, then keep the top clear for a lamp and a drink. It sits comfortably with everything in our living room furniture range.

Brown oak reads warm against charcoal and forest-green upholstery, and it takes brass hardware without fuss. If you are pulling a room together from scratch, start with a coffee table in a related tone and let the end tables follow.

Care
  • Dust with a soft, dry cloth; wipe spills right away with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately.
  • Skip ammonia, bleach and silicone-based polishes, which dull a glazed wood finish over time.
  • Use coasters and felt pads under lamps and decor to protect the surface from rings and scratches.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sun and away from heat vents so the finish does not fade or check.
