Sizes, materials and care

The Root Bowl is a wide, shallow teak bowl from Dovetail with a natural finish and an organic, uneven rim. At about 20 inches across and 4 inches deep, it is sized to anchor a dining table, kitchen island or large coffee table, and it holds its own on a console or sideboard with nothing in it at all.

Every Root Bowl is one of a kind. The grain, color and outline of the rim follow the piece of teak it was made from, so the bowl you take home will differ slightly from the one in the photo. That variation is the appeal: it brings the warmth of raw wood into a room without looking mass produced.

Styling Tips

Leave it empty on a dining table so the grain does the work, or fill it with dried stems, pinecones or a loose pile of greenery for the season.
