Sizes, materials and care

Woven paper cord across the chair back is the detail that sets the Rothler apart from a standard upholstered dining chair, alternating weave patterns catch the light differently than a flat panel would, and the solid ash frame underneath keeps the whole thing light rather than heavy. It is a dining chair built from mixed materials rather than a single one, which is what keeps it from reading generic.

The seat is thickly cushioned in performance fabric, so it holds up to daily use at a family table without the compression a thinner pad would show after a year.

Styling Tips

The paper cord back reads textural rather than rustic, so it works with a polished table as easily as a raw-wood one, pair it with a table from our dining tables collection in a contrasting tone to let the weave stand out. Six around a table reads collected rather than matched, especially mixing the fabric and leather finishes.

Because the frame is light in both weight and finish, it works in a smaller dining room where a heavier chair would crowd the space.

Care

Dust the ash frame with a soft, damp cloth followed by a dry one, and address spills on the paper cord back immediately with a dry cloth, moistening only to treat a stain and letting it air dry. On the fabric seats, follow the cleaning code provided; on the Maestro Camel leather, buff with a clean, dry cloth and avoid oils or leather cleaners. Indoor use only.
