Styling
Twenty inches is proper sofa-arm height, and the enclosed interior is the part that matters in a living room: remotes, chargers and coasters go inside instead of living on the marble. A side table you can tidy into is worth more than one you cannot.
It also works beside a bed, where the shelf takes the things a nightstand drawer would. Marble and dark reeded wood is a warm combination rather than a cold one, and it sits with leather, linen, brass and oak. More in living room and beds & bedroom.
Care
- Dust the wood with a dry, soft cloth
- Wipe marble with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately
- Use coasters; marble stains from wine, citrus and oil
- No acidic or abrasive cleaners on the stone
- Open by the door edge rather than pulling on the reeding
- Natural marble veining varies from the photograph
