About the Spalted White Oak Coffee Table

Our notes on this piece, including its condition.

Here's a coffee table with a story written right into the grain. Crafted from white oak with dramatic spalting, this piece carries warm walnut tones and those inky, lightning-bolt lines that spalting creates when nature does its slow, unpredictable work. No two boards like this are ever alike, and this one wears its mid-century pedigree with confidence, clean, low-slung lines that let the wood do all the talking.

Built from solid white oak, it measures a compact 30 inches wide by 16 inches deep and stands 17 inches tall. The ideal perch for a stack of art books or a morning coffee within easy reach of the sofa. The warm walnut finish deepens the spalted figuring, and while it's in good condition with the honest character marks of a well-loved piece, it's ready for many more years of daily use. This is exactly the kind of find that makes hunting through vintage coffee tables Portland worth the trip.

Slot it in front of a low-profile sofa in a sunlit living room, or let it anchor a reading nook. Pair it with a chunky ceramic vase, a woven rug, and a leather lounge chair to lean into the mid-century mood, or keep things minimal and let the grain steal the show.
