The Murphy Cabinet Queen Bed transforms a handsome hardwood cabinet into a full queen-size bed in under a minute — a space-saving workhorse that belongs in a home office, guest room, or city apartment. Built to live as a finished piece of furniture first and a sleep surface second, it anchors a room all day and disappears at bedtime. Choose from ten solid-wood finishes ranging from heirloom walnut to ornate hand-carved mahogany to weathered acacia. Pair it with the rest of our bedroom furniture to round out the space.

Each finish is crafted from solid wood. Prices reflect the hardwood species and level of hand-carving.

• Walnut ($3,495) — natural solid black walnut with prominent grain and warm brown tones. The top-tier option for lovers of raw, unstained hardwood.
• Artesian Black ($3,295) — solid mahogany with ornate hand-carved filigree door panels, painted black. Dramatic focal piece that reads as an heirloom.
• Artesian White ($3,295) — same ornate carved filigree, painted white. Coastal, bright, and romantic.
• Milan Black ($3,295) — solid mahogany with raised diamond-pattern door panels and brass hardware, painted black. Architectural and graphic.
• Milan White ($3,295) — diamond-pattern carving in a clean painted white. Bright, modern, tailored.

Styling Tips

Flank the cabinet with a slim nightstand and a warm-toned table lamp from our lighting collection so the setup reads as a complete bedroom even when closed. A low-pile runner in front softens the transition when the bed folds out, and a pair of dressers nearby keeps everything guest-ready.

Care

Dust the cabinet regularly with a soft dry cloth; wipe spills immediately with a barely damp cloth and dry at once. Natural walnut and leaf-carved mahogany benefit from an annual coat of quality furniture wax or walnut-safe oil to preserve the grain; painted and stained finishes simply need gentle wipe-downs with mild soap and water as needed. Rotate the mattress every 3–4 months for even wear, and air the cabinet out with the bed folded open once a month.

Opening (solo, under 60 seconds)

1. Release the two front latches at the top of the cabinet.
2. Tip the front panel forward and down — the hidden casters take the weight.
3. Pull the bed frame out onto the floor; the back panel stays upright as your walnut headboard.
4. Unfold the tri-fold mattress across the platform and dress it with your preferred bedding.

Closing

1. Remove the top layer of bedding (you can leave the fitted sheet on the mattress).
2. Fold the mattress back in thirds as you tilt the bed frame upright.
3. Slide the frame into the cabinet and engage the locking mechanisms.

Tip: the side panels fold out horizontally and act as integrated nightstand surfaces when the bed is deployed.
