Who builds it
Stanton is a family company from Canby, Oregon.
Bud Stanton started the company in 1973, and it's still family-owned and family-run today, less than 30 miles from our Portland store. Stanton doesn't sell online. It sells through local furniture stores, and we're proud to be one of them.
That means you shop Stanton with us: sit on the shapes, flip through the fabric books, and order with someone who'll still be here when your sofa arrives. If anything ever goes wrong, you call us and we handle the warranty claim with Stanton.

Start with how you like to sit.
Seat depth changes everything. Shallow seats keep you upright with your feet on the floor; deep ones are made for curling up. Photos show each frame's shape. You choose the fabric when you build it. Prices are for Standard grade fabric.

Grade is only a price step on the same frame: a Nirvana sofa is $2,075 in Standard, $2,135 in Premium and $2,195 in Performance. Bigger sectionals use more fabric, so the step grows with them.
Standard 69 fabrics
The frame's starting price, with plenty of everyday choices.
Premium 76 fabrics
One step up: +$60 on most sofas, more on large sectionals.
Performance 22 fabrics
Two steps up: +$120 on most sofas. All take a water-based cleaner.

Stanton quotes 4 to 6 weeks for most stationary pieces. Plan on up to 8 to be safe; we'll keep you posted.
We bring it home
When it's ready, we schedule delivery with you. Front-door delivery is free on $1,500+ within 20 miles of our Portland warehouse in Oregon, $149 under $1,500, and free anywhere in Oregon on $5,000+, with mileage past 20 miles. Pickup is free, by confirmation. Delivery rates · Pay over time

Stanton's warranty covers
- The frame and spring seat base, for as long as you, the original owner, own the piece
- Cushion foam against losing its resiliency, for the original owner
- Fabric for 1 year against seam slippage, seam failure and fabric separation
Claims go through the store, so you call us and we work it out with Stanton.
What it doesn't cover
- Pet damage and heavy soiling
- Fading from sunlight, pilling and stretching
- Small color differences between fabric dye lots
Stanton fabrics clean well but aren't stain-proof, so blot spills right away. Care codes for every fabric

Where is Stanton based?
Canby, Oregon, less than 30 miles from our Portland store. Stanton is a multi-generation, family-owned furniture maker; Bud Stanton founded it in 1973. Stanton sells through local furniture stores rather than online, and in the Portland area you can see and order Stanton with us.
Is Stanton furniture good quality?
Stanton builds on a heavy-duty modular frame with 2x4 support rails and corner blocks, 8.5-gauge sinuous steel seat springs, and high-density, high-resiliency foam cushions it makes in its own shop. The frame, seat springs and cushion foam carry a lifetime limited warranty for the original owner. The best test is a sit: come try a few in Portland or Cedar Mill.
How much does a Stanton custom sofa cost?
On our 13 frames, a Stanton sofa in Standard fabric starts at $1,390 and the Nirvana sofa is $2,075. Chairs start at $1,105 and sectionals at $2,480. Premium adds $60 and Performance $120 on most sofas; large sectionals step up more.

Stanton's dealer portal listed 4 to 6 weeks for stationary pieces and 5 to 7 weeks for reclining pieces when we checked on October 3, 2026. Orders sometimes run longer, so plan on up to 8 weeks, then we schedule delivery with you.
What does the Stanton warranty cover?
A lifetime limited warranty on the frame and spring seat base, and on cushion foam against losing its resiliency, for as long as the original owner has the piece. Fabric is covered for 1 year against seam slippage, seam failure and fabric separation. Pet damage, fading, pilling and dye lot differences aren't covered. Warranty claims go through us.
Can I see Stanton fabrics before I order?
Yes. The Stanton fabric books are at our Portland store, 439 SE Grand Ave. We can't mail swatches, but if you can't come in, ask in chat and we'll send you a photo of the real swatch from the book.

Yes. When we checked Stanton's dealer portal on October 3, 2026, it listed current fabrics and build times, and we take Stanton custom orders in both of our showrooms. If you've read that a furniture maker called Stanton shut down, that was Stanton International, a different company owned by a Los Angeles investment firm (Furniture Today, January 12, 2009).
Does Stanton make recliners and sleepers?
Yes. Stanton offers reclining sofas and sectionals as well as sofa beds.
