Sizes, materials and care

Some upgrades change what a chair is. This dedicated base converts the Carmen club chair into a full swivel glider — smooth 360-degree rotation plus a gentle back-and-forth glide that makes it the chair everyone quietly claims first. Nurseries, reading corners, and TV rooms are the obvious beneficiaries; anywhere you settle in for more than ten minutes qualifies. Browse companion seating in our accent chair collection. Styling Tips

Give a swivel glider clearance on all sides — about six inches beyond the chair's widest point keeps the motion free and the walls unscuffed. In a nursery, set it beside a small side table at arm height for the midnight-feed essentials. In the living room, angle the chair toward the seating group; the swivel means it never has to choose between the conversation and the window. Test the glide with your usual chair-side rug — low pile keeps the motion free, while a thick shag can drag against the base.

Care:
Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth. Check that mounting hardware stays snug with regular use, and keep the mechanism free of dust and debris for smooth motion.
