About the Mid-Century Metal Counter-Height Bar Stool

Our notes on this piece, including its condition.

These charcoal counter-height bar stool bring a quiet, graphic punch to a kitchen island without shouting. The mid-century line is all about a slim silhouette and a seat that sits at conversation height, the kind of piece you spot on a Saturday hunt and know will earn its keep every morning.

Each stool measures about 19 inches wide, 17 inches deep, and 37 inches tall, a counter height that slides under a standard island without crowding the walkway. The charcoal metal frame is the structural story here, finished in a deep neutral that still reads bold against wood or stone. Condition is good, with honest wear from real meals rather than damage that needs hiding.

Tuck them under an island and pair them with a warm wood table or a single brass lamp so the charcoal reads as the anchor, not a blackout. If you are browsing vintage bar stools Portland, these are the practical ones that still feel like a discovery.
