Two benches wrapped in brown and white hair-on-hide, pieced from panels so the markings break across the sides the way they did on the animal. Styling

Storage that is not trying to look like storage is rare, and it is the reason to put one of these at the end of a bed or under a window. Throws, spare bedding and the things that otherwise pile up on a chair go inside, and what the room sees is a hide bench. The lid is solid enough to sit on while you put your shoes on.

The two lengths do different jobs. The 40" suits the foot of a queen bed, a narrow hall or a window seat; the 48" holds its own under a long console, or as a coffee table alternative in front of a sofa. Brown and white hide sits easily with oak, leather, jute, black metal and warm white walls, and it gives a room full of flat woven texture something with depth to it. Care

• Brush or vacuum with a soft upholstery attachment, following the direction of the hair
• Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth; do not rub against the grain
• Keep out of direct sun, which fades hide over time
• Lift the lid off rather than dragging it, to protect the hide at the rim
• No solvents, no steam, no saddle soap
• Professional leather cleaning for anything that has set

Returns & Exchanges
We want you to love what you bought. Not sure it's right? Ask about “If It Fits, It Sits” — take select in-stock pieces home for up to 2 days and live with them before you commit.

If your item came boxed and you still have the packaging, you've got 7 days from the day you get it to tell us you'd like to try something else. Bring it back to the showroom unused and in its box, and we'll put the full amount on store credit so you can find the right piece. Credit doesn't expire.

Custom orders, consignment, and floor models work differently — those are built to your specs, owned by someone else, or the last one on the floor, so they're final. That said, if you're in a real bind on a custom piece, tell us. Some of our vendors will take one back for a restocking fee, and we're happy to ask on your behalf.

Warranty
Warranty coverage comes from the manufacturer, so terms vary by brand. Several of the makers we carry offer a lifetime warranty on the frame, the springs, and the resiliency of the cushions; others cover a set number of years. Fabric and leather coverage is typically separate from structural coverage.

Whatever your piece carries, you don't have to chase it down. If something arrives damaged or a defect appears later, contact us and our claims department files with the manufacturer on your behalf and sees it through.
