Sizes, materials and care

Lane is built low and deep, the kind of chair meant for watching the sunrise or sunset rather than sitting up for dinner. FSC-certified teak, finished in a brown wash, frames a neutral sand-colored cushion, keeping the whole chair understated enough to work on a porch, patio, or covered deck without fighting the view.

As part of our outdoor furniture lineup, Lane is built for real weather exposure, though the fabric and finish both last longest with a cover during the wet months Portland is known for.

Styling Tips

Lane works best in pairs flanking a small outdoor side table, close enough together for conversation but low enough to keep sightlines open to whatever the seating is facing. It also holds its own as a single chair in a smaller balcony or patio.

The teak will silver naturally over time if left uncovered, which some owners prefer; covering it during winter slows that process and keeps the brown wash finish intact longer. Either way, plan on storing or covering the cushion when it is not in use.

Care

Iron the outdoor fabric on its lowest setting to release packaging wrinkles, and machine wash on gentle cycle with a low-heat tumble dry, spot-cleaning by hand first. Wipe the teak frame with warm, soapy water and dry with a soft cloth, avoiding harsh cleaners. Cover or store both frame and cushion during inclement weather and when not in use. Outdoor-rated.
