Styling Tips
Horizontal bookcases are the better choice under a low ceiling or behind a sofa, and this one is wide enough to hold a record collection, a run of art books and a lamp without looking crowded. Mix book stacks with objects, and leave one bay deliberately empty. It works as easily in a living room as it does among our office furniture.
If the room is doing double duty as a workspace, run a desk perpendicular to the Lyncott so the shelving becomes the backdrop rather than the wall you stare at. Warm brass lighting flatters the mango finish; browse our lighting for a picture light or a floor lamp to pair with it.
Care
- Dust with a soft, dry cloth; wipe spills right away with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately.
- Skip ammonia, bleach and silicone-based polishes, which dull a glazed wood finish over time.
- Use coasters and felt pads under lamps and decor to protect the surface from rings and scratches.
- Keep out of prolonged direct sun and away from heat vents so the finish does not fade or check.
