The Memphis takes the armless silhouette—long a designer trick for seating more people in less visual space—and dresses it in taupe performance fabric over distressed parawood, finishing each foot with a bronzed metal cap. It is the armless accent chair equivalent of a perfectly cut blazer. Neutral, yes; boring, never—the wood and metal details keep it from disappearing into the room.
