What neighbors say about getting it home

Google reviews of our Portland store, and what each one means for the Waylon.

I have stairs and tight corners; I was very worried the couch wouldn’t fit. But they consistently reassured me, and they got it into my apartment beautifully.

The first flight of stairs is on us; a second flight is $50, and $25 for each one after. Tell us about tight turns when we schedule.

They communicated, called in advance, showed up on time and were super quick hauling away my old sofa and bringing in my new one all the way up 3 flights of stairs.

Alicia was amazing while I was buying a sectional couch - she was professional and navigated gracefully through my challenges, making a decision and changing configurations.

Sizes, materials and care

Shapely, etagere-inspired shelving with a midcentury lean. The Waylon bookshelf forms a large open frame in brown-finished solid acacia, its shape more sculptural than a plain rectangular case, with generous open shelving ready for books, framed photos or anything else worth displaying. It is a bookcase that works as much for its silhouette as for its storage.

At 80 inches wide and 84 inches tall, it is a real architectural piece, built for a living room or study wall rather than a corner filler, and the fully open shelving means everything on it stays visible instead of disappearing behind doors. The acacia grain varies naturally, so no two pieces read quite the same.

Styling Tips

Because every shelf is open, the Waylon reads best styled with intention: mix stacked books, a few ceramics and one or two larger objects so the negative space between shelves stays part of the design rather than looking empty. Pair it with a media console from our media consoles collection in the same acacia tone for a room that reads as one wood family.

Because the frame is so open, it also works as a room divider between a living and dining area, letting light and sightlines pass through while still defining the space. Keep the top shelf a little lighter than the rest so the piece does not feel top-heavy.

Care

Dust the acacia frame with a dry, soft cloth, working with the grain, and wipe up spills before they sit. Keep the piece out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources, which can dry and crack the wood over time. Indoor use only. Free front-door delivery in the Portland area on orders $1,500+, or white-glove delivery available.
