Is Fjords cheaper than Stressless?
On the two matches we checked, yes. Even our highest-priced Admiral R leather set costs less than the lowest-priced Stressless Admiral set we found. Stressless doesn’t list prices on its own site, so we compared What's New Furniture’s Fjords prices with a Portland Stressless retailer’s online sale prices on the same day.

What's New Furniture has Fjords recliners lined up to try at our Cedar Mill showroom, and you can buy them at either showroom. Both are open Monday to Saturday 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm.

The floor changes, so call before you come to check which models, sizes and leathers are out. Then sit for ten minutes in the position you use most: reading, TV or a nap.
Every Fjords recliner we sell costs over $1,500, so front-door delivery is free within 20 miles of Portland, in Oregon. Washington and longer distances have their own rates.
Size and fit
Six of the seven Fjords models we carry come in two sizes. Our Muldal Small is 29.5″ wide, 32.5″ deep and 40.5″ high; the Large is 32.5″ by 35.5″ by 41″. Both have an 18″ seat height and depth.
Most Stressless recliners come in small, medium and large. A good fit puts your feet flat on the floor and your head on the headrest. Our team can help you choose a size in the showroom.
Warranty, line by line
Fjords
- 10 years: the metal frame and steel mechanical parts of every model we carry, and the reclining mechanism on the Muldal and Admiral
- 5 years: foam, wood and gas cylinders
- 3 years: the reclining mechanism and power parts on the Milan, Rome, Jewel, Helsinki and Finn
- 2 years: leather or fabric, against wear-through
- 1 year: the battery on the Finn
Stressless, on its English-language warranty page, for pieces bought from an authorized retailer with the original receipt:
- 10 years: internal mechanism and frame
- 5 years: base, foam and power motor
- 1 year: leather or fabric
If a Fjords you bought from us is damaged or develops a defect, contact us rather than Fjords. Send us a photo, and our claims department files the claim and follows it through.
Used Stressless recliners in Portland
What's New Furniture has listed two used Stressless pieces from our consignment floor: a leather power recliner at $1,895 and a loveseat with ottomans at $745. Neither is available now. New arrivals go up in Newest Consignments.
Plan on no factory warranty with a used Stressless. Consignment pieces are final sale under our refund policy. Sit in it, recline it fully and swivel it before you buy.
