What neighbors say about ordering custom here

Google reviews of our Portland store, and what each one means for the Rags.

This is the second time I’ve gotten a semi-custom couch from What’s New and both times I had a great experience. The furniture is high quality and really lasts.

We had a very difficult time choosing a fabric (took us more than a month 🙃), and came into the store SO MANY TIMES.

We chose white glove delivery to remove our old couch & the delivery was incredibly smooth and professional.

Sizes, materials and care

The Rags Apartment Sofa by Stylus keeps everything people love about the full-size Rags — the deep seat, the broad relaxed arms, the soft flange-edge detailing — and pulls it in to 80 inches so it actually fits a condo or a bungalow front room. It's a proper sink-in sofa that stopped apologising for the size of your living room.

Details

Dimensions: 80" W × 42" D × 33" H
Upholstery: Shown in Candace Spice, a deep cocoa-rust chenille
Seat: Extra-deep seat cushions built for lounging, not perching
Arms: Broad track arms with relaxed flange-edge detailing
Frame: Hardwood, corner-blocked, with sinuous-spring suspension
Legs: Menlo walnut block legs on this piece
Origin: Hand-built to order in the Pacific Northwest by Stylus
Family: Also made as a full 88" sofa, loveseat, chair and sectional
Customization: Hundreds of fabrics, cushion fills, and leg finishes to order

Styling Tips

Candace Spice is a warm, earthy brown-rust that behaves like a neutral once it's in the room — it takes cream and oatmeal beautifully and turns genuinely rich next to brass or aged walnut. Because the Rags sits deep, give it a low coffee table and pull a soft rug right under the front legs so the whole group reads grounded. Layer pillows and throws in cream, sage and clay, and keep a slim accent chair opposite so the deep seat stays the star. See the rest of the range in our Pacific Northwest-made sofas or step up to the full-size Rags Sofa.

Care

Cleaning: Vacuum weekly with an upholstery attachment; blot spills immediately with a clean dry cloth, working from the outside in
Fabric: Spot-clean per the fabric's cleaning code; test any solvent on a hidden seam first
Cushions: Rotate and flip the deep seat cushions regularly — they take the most wear
Placement: Keep clear of heat vents and prolonged direct sunlight
Warranty: Covered by the Stylus limited lifetime frame and suspension warranty
