What neighbors say about ordering custom here

Google reviews of our Portland store, and what each one means for the Rags.

This is the second time I’ve gotten a semi-custom couch from What’s New and both times I had a great experience. The furniture is high quality and really lasts.

We had a very difficult time choosing a fabric (took us more than a month 🙃), and came into the store SO MANY TIMES.

We chose white glove delivery to remove our old couch & the delivery was incredibly smooth and professional.

Sizes, materials and care

The Rags Sofa by Stylus is the one people sit down on and stop wanting to leave — 88 inches of deep seat, broad relaxed arms, and soft flange-edge detailing that reads casual rather than formal. It's a proper lounging sofa, hand-built to order in the Pacific Northwest.

Details

Dimensions: 88" W × 42" D × 33" H
Seat: Extra-deep seat cushions built for lounging, not perching
Arms: Broad track arms with relaxed flange-edge detailing
Frame: Hardwood, corner-blocked, with sinuous-spring suspension
Floor colorways: Nile Sage, Nile Ocean, and Nile Bark
Origin: Hand-built to order in the Pacific Northwest by Stylus
Family: Also made as an 80" apartment sofa, loveseat, chair and sectional
Customization: Hundreds of fabrics, cushion fills, and leg finishes to order

Styling Tips

Nile Sage is the easiest of the three to build a room around — a soft grey-green that sits quietly against fir trim and warms right up next to oak or walnut. Give the Rags a low coffee table and run a rug under the front legs so the depth reads deliberate. Keep pillows and throws in cream, clay and oatmeal. Nile Ocean pushes the same room cooler and Nile Bark takes it warm. Browse the rest of our Pacific Northwest-made sofas.

Care

Cleaning: Vacuum weekly with an upholstery attachment; blot spills immediately with a clean dry cloth
Fabric: Spot-clean per the fabric's cleaning code; test any solvent on a hidden seam first
Cushions: Rotate and flip the deep seat cushions regularly — they take the most wear
Placement: Keep clear of heat vents and prolonged direct sunlight
