What to Know About Modular Sofas
Stylus is known for modular designs, so you can build a layout around your room. A few things to think through:
-
Configuration: Chaises, corners, armless sections, and ottomans can be combined to fit your space. Sketch the layout and measure each wall first.
-
Fabric: Performance fabrics are made to resist stains and wear, which suits homes with kids and pets. Natural linens feel relaxed but wrinkle more.
-
Frame and cushions: Check the product details for how the frame is built and what the cushions are filled with, since both affect how a sofa wears.
-
Warranty: Every piece is covered by its manufacturer's warranty, and terms vary by brand.
-
Build time: Custom orders follow the maker's build time, typically 4 to 14 weeks.
Comparing Custom Sofa Brands
Portland furniture shoppers often compare Stylus with other custom-order sofa makers. When you compare, look at the fabric choices, the frame styles, the build time, and the manufacturer's warranty.
Stanton Furniture and Rowe Furniture also build custom upholstery in a range of styles. Stylus is worth a look if you want modular or contemporary sectional configurations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I customize a Stylus sofa?
Yes. Stylus sofas and sectionals can be built to order, and you choose the fabric. Many models also offer modular configurations, so you can add or rearrange sections to fit your space.
How long does a custom Stylus order take?
Custom orders follow the maker's build time, typically 4 to 14 weeks. We will give you the current estimate for your frame when you order.
How do I plan a sectional layout?
Measure both walls of the corner, then tape the footprint on the floor. Decide which side the chaise or open end belongs on, and leave room to walk around the piece.
What fabric suits kids and pets?
Look for performance fabrics, which are made to resist stains, and tight weaves. Loose, looped textures can snag on claws.
Planning Your Stylus Piece
Before you order, measure your space and the path into your home, and choose a fabric that suits how you live.
