Where can I buy a custom couch made in Oregon in Portland?
What’s New Furniture sells Stanton sofas, which are made in Oregon, at its Portland and Cedar Mill showrooms and online. See the Oregon-made sofas we carry, or build a Stanton online.
Can I change the length or depth of a custom sofa?
Yes, within each frame’s set sizes. At What’s New Furniture you pick a length from the frame’s list; for a different seat depth, pick a different frame. A Stanton Nirvana, for example, comes as a 74-inch loft sofa, an 87-inch sofa or a 104-inch XL sofa, and Stanton seat depth runs from 20 inches (Legacy) to 29 inches (Drift).
For more seats, choose a sectional. Our Stanton builder has L and U shapes, with the chaise on the left or right as you face the sofa. Arms and back come with the Stanton frame or Stylus style; Rowe’s vary by program, so ask us.
Each frame is built in the sizes on its list, so measure first. Not sure which size fits? Bring your measurements and a few room photos to either showroom, and we’ll help you choose at no charge.
How long does a custom sofa take in Portland?
A custom sofa from What’s New Furniture takes about 4 to 6 weeks for a Stanton and 6 to 13 for a Stylus, counted from the day you order. We confirm Rowe’s time when you order. Where those times come from:
- Stanton: Stanton’s own quote, checked October 15, 2026.
- Stylus: Stylus’s production schedule, October 16–17, 2026, which sets a time for each style. The Connor and Fitz are 6 to 9 weeks right now; the Adel is 10 to 13.
We confirm your estimated ready date when you order, and we schedule delivery once the sofa reaches us. Busy seasons can add time.
What does a custom sofa cost?
In our online Stanton builder, a sofa starts at $1,365, and fabric grade and size set the final price. Premium fabrics add $60 on a sofa and Performance fabrics $120. On bigger pieces the step is larger: up to $275 for Premium and $575 for Performance. Every builder price is on the page before you order.
How many fabrics can I choose from, and can I see them first?
Our 167 online Stanton fabrics come in three grades: 69 Standard, 76 Premium and 22 Performance. On our Stanton fabrics page you can filter them by grade and color.
See them in person. Both showrooms are open daily, Monday to Saturday 10 to 6 and Sunday 11 to 5.

Ordering, delivery and returns
How do I order a custom sofa?
- Measure. Measure the wall and every doorway, hall and stair on the way in. Our builder draws each shape to scale.
- Sit on the frame. Call first to check which frames are out. Portland has Stanton floor sofas by the fabric wall.
- Choose the fabric and any options the frame offers.
- Order. Build a Stanton online (Shop Pay or Affirm), or order any of the three in a showroom. Custom orders are final sale.
- Wait for the build. We confirm your estimated ready date, then contact you to schedule delivery when the sofa arrives.
Do you deliver and set it up?
Yes. Front-door delivery in Oregon is free on orders of $1,500 or more within 20 miles of Portland, and $149 under $1,500. Farther out in Oregon, add $2 a mile past 20 miles; delivery is free anywhere in the state at $5,000+. Washington delivery is $149 plus mileage past 20 miles.
White glove adds $158 for a sofa or loveseat: we carry it to the room you choose, assemble it and take the packaging away. We can take away your old sofa for $150 if you ask when you order (the general online add-on is $175, so we confirm the price with you). It’s one old piece per new piece, and it must be safe and sanitary. See delivery rates for your address.
Can I return a custom sofa?
No. Under our refund policy, custom pieces, consignment and floor models are final sale. A custom piece is built to your fabric and configuration, so there’s no shelf to put it back on.
If plans change, talk to us anyway. Some makers will take a custom piece back for a restocking fee they set. We will make the call for you and tell you what it would cost, but we can’t promise a yes.
If your sofa arrives damaged or a defect shows up later, contact us rather than the maker. Send a photo and our claims department files the claim and follows it through.
Can I order a custom sofa bed?
Yes. What’s New Furniture carries Stylus custom sofa beds, and many Stylus styles come as queen, double or twin.
